I normally try to preempt the downfall of politicians by publishing their political obituary in advance. However the downfall of Boris was a bit more sudden and unexpected. Given how he’s dodged so many scandals that would have brought down anyone else, it seemed unlikely a sex scandal (that didn’t even involve him) would be the trigger for his downfall.
I’d assumed the trigger point would be when enough Tory donors started to suffer from his business policy (i.e. fuck business) that then he’d be removed (as Tory donors are the only demographic the Tory party actually care about). However, it would appear to have been a tactical move on the part of various candidates for his job….or in other words Tory backstabbing.
